I don’t fit cleanly into any one of those categories. My background spans across them: I’m an active product designer who codes, has led teams, and has operated at the product leadership level where painful tradeoffs happen. That makes it easier to spot where strong teams with good ideas and solid execution still struggle to turn effort into consistent momentum. In those moments, the issue usually isn’t talent or vision — it’s friction between decisions, handoffs, and incentives. I work directly inside that friction, shaping the work, the collaboration, and the decisions themselves so teams can move forward with more clarity and confidence.

Across nearly all of our client teams, we’re already seeing up to 40% productivity gains — especially in ideation and prototyping. Internally, as designers who code, our own workflow has changed dramatically; we’re approaching a point where we can build full production products end to end, and it looks very different than it did even 12 months ago. We experiment constantly, first on ourselves, then filter what’s actually transferable based on the team, the org, and the moment they’re in. Some changes are stable and already improving how work gets done, some are worth watching, and a lot is still hype that isn’t reliable yet. We evolve workflows where AI adds real leverage — not universally, and not by default.

I primarily work with Seed to Series A startups. This is the sweet spot where product complexity starts to outpace the team's ability to coordinate, and where setting up the right design foundations yields the highest ROI.

Not exactly. I don’t place long-term or standalone designers — the designers I bring in are meant to smooth transitions, not fill seats. They’re most effective during bandwidth spikes, hiring gaps, team absences, or alongside consulting work where a senior role model helps new ways of working actually stick. If what you need is a long-term designer, I’m happy to connect you with people I trust — I just want to make sure you get the right support for the moment you’re in.

No. They’re not outsourced, and they’re not contractors rotating in and out. They’re full-time members of my team who work year-round focused solely on client outcomes. Everyone is senior, everyone has real product scars, and everyone understands both design and the code it turns into. No bait-and-switch where a seasoned creative director sells the work and juniors execute it. You get experienced design developers embedded directly into your Slack and Jira — bringing clarity, confidence, and judgment you can actually rely on when things are changing.

Yes — but we’re intentional about geography. The work is intense and highly collaborative, so close access matters. In-person is a big plus, and overlapping time zones are the minimum. Europe works well, and we occasionally partner with New York–based teams depending on the engagement, but we rarely take on work with 10-hour gaps like the West Coast. We also tend to bias toward companies building in English for the American market, where our experience has the most leverage.

My goal is to make myself obsolete by building your internal capacity. In practice, that often means helping teams get their house in order so they’re ready for long-term leadership — around 60% of my engagements end with recruiting and placing a VP or Head of Product. When teams go to market after the work, the role is clearer, more compelling, and feels like an open canvas to build on, not a cleanup job. I’m focused on setting that up, not stepping into the role myself.
